
Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR) Awareness
Purpose
This course will provide participants with an understanding of the requirements of the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR) and how these apply to their workplace, work processes and experiments. This includes an introduction to the key aspects of DSEAR as well as the hierarchy of controls to consider when eliminating or reducing the risk associated with working with Dangerous Substances i.e. flammable dusts, liquids or gases and where explosive atmospheres may occur. The course also introduces the concept of hazardous area classification.
