Functional Safety for Managers

This course provides managers in the process industry sector with an appreciation of the basic principles of functional safety in the context of the IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 standards.  Participants will develop their knowledge of the important aspects of the safety lifecycle which are necessary to enable staff to fulfil their responsibilities under the relevant standards, and to enable projects and facilities to achieve functional safety.  The training emphasises the role of management in functional safety activities.

  3. Understand how aspects of your role, or your management’s role, impact the success of your organisation or team in achieving functional safety
  4. Identify routes to functional safety compliance for a project and/or facility

What prior study is recommended?
