Face-to-face learning

Face-to-face (F2F) learning is mainly provided to groups of 5 or more students from the same organisation. Our clients find this approach very effective because the training can be focused on the organisation's specific type of operations, risk assessment practices and personnel development needs. We also run occasional F2F open courses such as bowtie training, HAZOP training and QRA training, see the current schedule. Face to Face


Clients select Risktec F2F training and education to help:

  • recruit and train new personnel
  • develop and retain existing personnel
  • capture and transfer the knowledge of experienced personnel
  • assess the capability of risk and safety practitioners
  • structure the use of their training budget.


Distance learning

Individuals or corporate groups seeking training or education in risk and safety management may access our distance learning (DL) courses delivered via Risktec Online. Each DL module has the same learning outcomes and content as the corresponding face-to-face (F2F) module. Distance Learning


Students select Risktec DL education to:

  • gain a formal qualification from a recognised institution
  • demonstrate learning rather than just attending training
  • study at a time that best suits them, working at their own pace and from home
  • access Risktec's experienced teachers (who are also practising consultants)
  • network and interact with other students during group tasks
  • avoid the costs of travel and accommodation associated with classroom learning

The module material comprises slides and explanatory notes, as well as references to further reading and useful websites. Students engage in online activities including tests, discussions, group tasks and virtual classrooms. Online support from the module teachers is available throughout all DL programmes.


Blended learning

We also offer client organisations the option of blended learning - a mix of face-to-face and distance learning, tailored to specific requirements. The programmes can be supplemented with industry opportunities such as work experience and summer placements at Risktec, shadowing of experienced professionals in industry, site visits and interacting with industry personnel at conferences or specially arranged workshops.
