We are seeking a highly organised individual with an engaging personality to join our principal office in Warrington as an IT Support Engineer.  The candidate also needs to be dynamic and self-starting and ideally would live locally to our Warrington office.  Given the support nature of the IT Team, a degree of flexibility in working hours (e.g. occasional weekend working) is required, as well as providing occasional visits to other UK and international offices.

Duties and responsibilities as part of the IT Team will include:

  • Supporting and delivering IT services for the company's Corporate Marketing and Professional Training teams.
  • Supporting and delivering IT services for the company's new Digitisation programme.
  • Maintaining and supporting the company's website.
  • Support in delivering the company IT Helpdesk, providing practical advice and support to all staff.

Key Technical Strengths:

  • Strong experience of web-based programming.
  • Strong experience of working with website development and e-commerce.
  • Experience of working with collaborative tools (Webex, SharePoint, Yammer, Slack, GoToMeeting, Google Keep, Invision).
  • Experience of working with social media channels (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube).
  • Experience of working with social media tools such as webinars, online video and podcasts.
  • Experience of working with and administration of Distance Learning applications (Blackboard, Moodlerooms).
  • Experience of working with audio and video conferencing.

 

Desirable Technical Strengths:

  • Experience of SQL and MySQL.
  • Experience in System Administration with Active Directory.
  • Experience of (WANs) and (LANs) and their associated technologies.
  • Experience of Windows Server 2003/2008/2012.
  • Understanding/experience of configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g. routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).
  • Understanding of subnetting, and IP allocation best practices.
  • Understanding of hypervisors (VMware, Citrix, HyperV).
  • Understanding of P2P Links, MPLS, SDWAN.
  • Understanding of SharePoint.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Exchange.

 

Preferred qualifications and experience:

  • Ideally educated to degree level or recognised equivalent.
  • Experience and knowledge of Microsoft applications.
  • Sound knowledge of network infrastructures.
